MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND PSA

As Memorial Day Weekend begins, Keenesburg PD would like to remind everyone to celebrate responsibly.

Please drive safe, slow down, wear your seatbelt, and do not drink and drive.

Also, Colorado suffered a devastating loss today when a semi truck hauling Coors Banquet rolled over on I-76. Thankfully, the driver was not seriously injured.

We know some of you are looking at this picture like it belongs in a history book under “statewide tragedies.”

It does not.

Despite what this photo may tempt some people to do, this is not your sign to drive drunk this weekend.

Our officers will be out all weekend looking for impaired drivers, aggressive driving, and other dangerous behavior. We would much rather spend the weekend doing literally anything else.

Use a designated driver. Call an Uber. Call a friend. Walk home. Ride a horse. Figure it out.

Just don’t drive drunk.

On a more serious note, we want to thank our Public Works Department, Reliable Towing, Kronk’s Roadside, Southeast Weld Fire Department, and the residents who assisted with cleanup efforts today. The cleanup took over four hours, and we appreciate everyone who helped get the interstate reopened safely.
