INTERNATIONAL OVERDOSE AWARENESS DAY 2023

International Overdose Awareness Day 2023 is quickly approaching and while the world seems to be spinning faster and the days going by quicker, for far too many families, time is standing still.

Losing a loved one to overdose is a tragedy no family should have to face, especially when many of these deaths are preventable thanks to life-saving interventions like naloxone.

More than 1 Million people since 1999 have died from Opioid Overdose. In 2021, 106,699 died from Opioid Overdose in the United States and those numbers continue to grow, especially with Fentanyl becoming so prevalent.

So what can we do on this day of remembrance, for the hundreds of thousands of lives lost since this epidemic began? 

There are several ways to support the cause and spread Awareness!

  • Join the Keenesburg Police Department and the Town of Keenesburg in wearing Purple on August 31, 2023
  • Share a Social media Post: Ensure you tag your post with the hashtags:

  • Support local charities and initiatives to combat opioid overdose
  • Schedule an Overdose Awareness Naloxone (NARCAN) Training
