On November 4th, 2025 at about 9:53pm Keenesburg Officers made a traffic stop on Mr. Darrin Smith. Through the investigation during the traffic stop, it was found that Mr. Smith had neglected his sex offender registry by not reporting what vehicles he has access to. Mr. Smith was prompted that night to go to the police department on November 5th to update his registry information. Mr. Smith neglected to follow this advice, leading officers to contact him again on November 6th and take him into custody at his home. Mr. Smith was transported to the Weld County Jail.
