The Moffat County Sheriff’s Office has seen an increase in individuals spinning donuts, driving recklessly in parking lots and dirt lots, and causing damage to county property. What may seem like “just messing around” can quickly become criminal behavior.
Be advised: there will be zero tolerance for this activity. Individuals caught engaging in reckless driving, destruction of property, or criminal mischief can expect enforcement action, including citations, criminal charges, restitution for damages, and, when appropriate, arrest.
These actions put people at risk, damage public property paid for by taxpayers, and will not be ignored.
If you choose to engage in this behavior, understand there are consequences.
The Moffat County Sheriff’s Office will continue to take action to protect public property and hold offenders accountable.
