MOLINA, COLO. - On March 6, 2026, at approximately 3 p.m., Nicole Parks, 35, of Grand Junction, was taken into custody by deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office at a private residence on JE 3/10 Road. Initially, deputies responded to a property in the area of 56 and KK Roads for a report of a restraining order violation at 11 a.m.
Deputies made contact with two adults who advised Parks arrived at their location a short time prior to them calling law enforcement. Parks was restrained from the adult male, and when deputies arrived on scene, she ran from the area. Once deputies identified Parks as the person who ran from the attempted contact, deputies were notified she also had an outstanding felony warrant. Deputies spent significant time tracking Parks across rough, rugged terrain in winter weather conditions on the Grand Mesa.
During the course of this incident, a stolen handgun was recovered, and ultimately Parks was located hiding inside a residential house that deputies had tracked her to.
Parks was arrested and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility, where she was booked on the following charges:
- Second Degree Burglary of a Dwelling, Felony 3
- Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender, Felony 5
- Resisting Arrest, Misdemeanor 2
- Violation of a Protection Order, Misdemeanor 2 (2 counts)
- Outstanding Warrant
A De Beque marshal assisted on scene during this incident, and we are grateful for their partnership in keeping our community safe.
No further information is available regarding Parks' arrest.
