Weekend Arrests In Mesa County

MESA COUNTY, Colo. - The following summaries detail arrests made over the weekend (July 10 - 12, 2026) by Mesa County Sheriff's deputies.

Just after 8 p.m. on July 10, deputies responded to a report of a felony menacing in the 400 block of 32 Rd. in Grand Junction.  Witnesses reported two adult women squaring off with a variety of weapons on-scene, including a baseball bat and firearms.

Kasidy Dennis, 30, of Grand Junction, was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

  • Assault - 2nd degree with injury - deadly weapon, Felony 4
  • Menacing - real/simulated weapon, Felony 5
  • 2nd degree criminal trespass enclosed/fences property, Petty Offense

A high rate of speed and erratic driving caught the attention of a deputy on July 11, at approximately 2 p.m., in the area of Sparn St. and Teller Ave. in Grand Junction. The vehicle also didn’t have a front license plate and ultimately had an expired temporary tag on the rear of the car. 

Deputies located a driver’s license and various bank checks not associated with the suspect in his possession, along with drug paraphernalia. Raul Godina, 30, of Basalt, was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

  • Criminal possession or sale of a blank financial transaction device, Felony 5
  • Criminal possession of ID document - single victim, Misdemeanor 2
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia, Petty Offense
  • Displayed expired temporary permit, Traffic Offense

On July 12, just before 1 a.m., deputies witnessed a vehicle driving erratically and going the wrong way into oncoming traffic in the area of 30 Rd. and the I-70 Business Loop, in Grand Junction. After conducting a traffic stop, the driver was identified as 25-year-old Ciaira Drew, of Grand Junction. She was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility without incident, on the following charges:

  • Drove under the influence, Misdemeanor
  • Vehicle crossed/drove within median/barrier, Traffic Offense

At approximately 12:45 p.m. on July 12, a deputy witnessed a vehicle with no license plates driving at a high rate of speed through the small town of Mesa. A short time later, the deputy located the vehicle and driver in the area of 48000 KE Rd., in Mesa. 

Christopher Rohde, 50, registered nearly three times the legal driving limit of .08% after taking a breathalyzer test at the Mesa County Detention Facility. He was booked into jail without incident on the following charges:

  • Driving under the influence, Misdemeanor
  • DUI - per se with blood alcohol content .08 or higher, Misdemeanor
  • Driving after revocation prohibited - habitual traffic offender, Misdemeanor
  • Reckless driving, Misdemeanor

Also on July 12, just before 1 p.m., deputies responded to a report of felony menacing in the 600 block of Avalon Court, Grand Junction. Deputies located 41-year-old Derek Plummer, who was aggressive with deputies and uncooperative with their investigation of the scene. A metal cane was located and suspected of having been used as a weapon to threaten an over-70-year-old victim, which could have caused serious bodily injury or death.

Plummer was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

  • Menacing-real/simulated weapon, Felony 5
  • Crimes against at-risk persons - neglect, Misdemeanor 1

On July 12 at approximately 3:45 p.m., deputies located a known suspect with active warrants in the area of G and 33 ¾ Roads in Clifton. Initially, the suspect attempted to hide and was uncooperative with the deputy's commands. After a short foot pursuit, deputies arrested Bryce Sherow, 27, of Fruita, on outstanding warrants. During the investigation, deputies added additional charges, and Sherow was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

  • Resisting arrest, Misdemeanor 2
  • Obstructing government operations, Misdemeanor 2
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia, Petty Offense
  • Two Fugitive other jurisdiction warrants
