GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. - On December 28, 2025, at approximately 11 p.m., patrol deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office recovered a reported stolen vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle in the 700 block of Horizon Drive, unattended.
Two adult males were contacted leaving the area and through the course of the investigation were connected to the stolen vehicle. Ultimately, Jacob Sears, 22, and Anthony Sabas, 36, both of Grand Junction, were arrested without incident and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Motor Vehicle Theft, 2nd Degree, Felony 4
- Theft $300 - $1000 From Motor Vehicle, Misdemeanor 2
Sears is also being held on a Parole Violation. In addition, we thank our partners with the Colorado State Patrol for their assistance in this case.
