On March 7, 2026, Nathan Folkestad, 40, of Mack, Colo., was arrested in the 1500 block of 10 Road, in Mack, at approximately 4:20 p.m. Deputies responded to a burglary in progress after a homeowner reported his neighbor had gained access inside his residence without permission.
When deputies arrived on scene, two officers with the Fruita Police Department and one officer with Colorado Parks and Wildlife had all the people separated for everyone’s safety. Due to the remote area and long distance of travel by deputies across the county, the important partnership with fellow law enforcement officers is critical to a quick and efficient response to calls of service.
Folkestad was arrested without incident and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- 2nd Degree Burglary of Dwelling, Felony 4
- Assault in the 3rd Degree, Misdemeanor 1
- Failure to Appear Warrant
We appreciate all the partnerships in local law enforcement to keep our community safe and secure. Working with Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the Fruita Police Department, and Colorado State Patrol has benefited the work we all do on a daily basis for our community.
