COLLBRAN, COLO. - On March 26, 2026, at approximately 5:50 p.m. the Grand Junction Regional Communication Center received multiple calls regarding a fire in the area of 64 3/10 Road outside of Collbran, Colorado.
Deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office responded to investigate the source of the fire, assisted by the De Beque Marshall’s Office, while Plateau Valley Fire Department, Palisade Fire Department, Clifton Fire Protection District, Grand Junction Fire Protection District, De Beque Fire Department, and Grand Valley Fire Department were dispatched to begin battling the growing blaze.
The Mesa County Wildland Fire Team and aviation resources, including a type one helicopter, large air tankers and type two initial attack crews, will be responding tomorrow moring, March 27, 2026.
Mesa County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Rich Acree assumed incident command of the Brushy Ridge Fire at 7:40 p.m. As of 10:45 p.m. on March 26, 2026, the fire measures at 100 acres.
At this time, no structures are threatened. Multiple gas and oil pads are in the area, but are actively being shut off and secured.
For safety and continuity of fire fighting efforts, 64 3/10 Road Highway is closed beginning at the intersection of Highway 330 East until future notice.
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office will continue to monitor the Brushy Ridge Fire and release updates as appropriate
