Mudslides Impact Highway 141 From Whitewater To Gateway
MESA COUNTY, Colo. - Colorado Highway 141 is currently closed near Whitewater as emergency crews respond to multiple mudslides and debris that have left the roadway impassable between mile markers 115 and 125. Mesa County Sheriff’s deputies, Mesa County Search and Rescue, and the Gateway-Unaweep Fire Protection District are on scene. Deputies have conducted wellness checks on residents living in the immediate area, and all individuals are accounted for.
Highway 141 remains restricted to emergency personnel access only. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has equipment on site, with additional crews en route to clear debris between mile markers 126 and 127.
