Looking for Victim Advocate Volunteers
Mesa County Sheriff's Office Victim Advocates are critical in helping victims begin the healing process. They are trained volunteers who respond to scenes of crime and other traumatic incidents to provide comfort, compassion, and resources to someone who may have just been a victim of a crime or experienced a traumatic event.
Studies have shown the sooner a person who experiences a traumatic event receives support, the sooner they begin to heal. Victim Advocate volunteers provide that support.
If you have empathy and compassion and want to help in your community, consider becoming a Victim Advocate volunteer. Applications for the next training academy are being accepted now. Training classes begin February 28, 2023.
