The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office is identifying the MCSO deputy involved in the officer-involved shooting that occurred on the morning of March 7, 2021.
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office deputy who discharged his duty firearm during this incident is Deputy Jason Bailey. Deputy Bailey is a 5-year veteran of the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office currently assigned to patrol.
As per standard protocol, Deputy Jason Bailey will remain on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation that takes place independently of the 21st Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) investigation.
