Mesa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a shooting on the 700 block of 33 Road at approximately 12:30 Saturday morning. Deputies found an adult male deceased with an apparent gunshot wound. Several people were in the area attempting to help the person.
Deputies quickly identified the suspect. Cody Hodge, 29, was arrested without incident and is facing the following charges: Murder in the Second Degree F2, Possession of Weapon by a Previous Offender F6, and Prohibited use of Weapons M2.
Hodge was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility. For updated bond amounts, click here.
The Mesa County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death as well as release the identity of the victim’s once next of kin is notified.
