UPDATE 2/3/2025:
The Mesa County Sheriff's Office has identified the male arrested in connection with the February 2, 2025 Glade Park Homicide as Zeth Phillips, age 30, of Grand Junction, Colorado.
Phillips is currently being held at the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Murder in the Second Degree Not Heat of Passion, Felony 2
- 1st Degree Burglary - Assaults or Menaces or is Armed, Felony 3
- Possession of Weapons by Previous Offenders, Felony 5
- 2nd Degree Motor Vehicle Theft, Felony 4
- Theft - $300-$1000 - From Building, Misdemeanor
- Violation of a Protection Order, Misdemeanor
- Parole Violation
The Mesa County Coroner’s Office is responsible for determining the cause and manner of death and identity of the victim.
ORIGINAL RELEASE 2/2/2025:
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding a homicide that occurred at a residence on Glade Park this afternoon.
Just after noon on Sunday, February 2, 2025, Deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the residence after the homeowner returned home to find the female victim deceased.
The Fruita Police Department quickly located and took the suspect into custody, who was then transported to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office for questioning.
This is believed to be an isolated incident, and there is no outstanding danger to the public.
Mesa County Sheriff’s Office Investigators continue to gather evidence and conduct interviews. This remains an open and active investigation. No further details are available at this time.
