Just before midnight, Mesa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment complex at 479 32 1/8 Road in Clifton.

A 35-year-old male with a gunshot wound left the scene headed to the hospital. Deputies located him en route and were able to assist him in getting into an ambulance. He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. 

Through the course of the investigation, the shooter was identified as Eric Haag, 22, of Clifton. He was arrested on the charge of Assault in the First Degree Intent to Cause Serious Bodily Injury Deadly Weapon F3.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated. Investigators believe this was an isolated incident.
