On the afternoon of January 9, 2023, a Deputy with the Mesa County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for fictitous license plates near the Fruita exit on Interstate 70. Upon a voluntary search of the vehicle, the deputy discovered an estimated 60,000 blue pills consistant with Fentanyl, 5 ounces of cocaine and a large sum of US currency.
30-year-old Henry Espinal-Meza was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility. He is charged with three counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute.
