On March 21, 2024, a Mesa County Sheriff's Deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation near Mile Marker 10 on I-70. During the stop, approximately 25,000 small pills consistent with fentanyl were found. Upon discovery of the drugs, Cesar Rodriguez, age 29, of California, was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility.
