Zachary Norvell, 30. was arrested on May 2, 2021 on the following charges:
Vehicular Eluding F5, First Degree Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft F4, Warrant - Fugitive Other Jurisdiction, Failure to stop at stop sign, Obstructing Government Operations M3, Possession of Weapon by Previous Offender F6, Driving Under the Influence, Reckless Driving, Driving Under Suspension
At approximately 10:30 Sunday night, Mesa County Sheriff's Office Deputies were alerted to a stolen car traveling eastbound on I-70 from the Clifton area. The stolen Nissan Pathfinder was located by Palisade Police in a business parking lot on North River Road. When officers and deputies approached it, the drive took off. Stop sticks were deployed on the roadway, but the car continued driving with deflated tires. Deputies performed a tactical vehicle intervention (TVI) maneuver to bring the vehicle to a stop in the area of the 3700 block of G Road in Palisade.
Zachary Norvell was arrested and taken to the Mesa County Detention Facility once medically cleared. Norvell is also facing additional charges from the Grand Junction Police Department related to an earlier burglary incident. For updated bond amounts, click here.
