MESA COUNTY, Colo. - On Friday, August 14, 2026, at approximately 9 a.m., deputies responded to the north desert area off 25 Road to assist a Bureau of Land Management Ranger in contact with two adults. Rodney Hundley, 59, of Clifton, had two active warrants for his arrest and was restrained from possessing or consuming controlled substances.

Ultimately, Hundley was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the active warrants and the following charges:

• Unlawful possession <4g controlled substance, Misdemeanor 1
• Obstructing a peace officer, Misdemeanor 2
• Unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon - knife/gun, Misdemeanor 1
• Violation of a protection order, Misdemeanor 1
• Unlawful conduct on public property, Petty Offense

On August 14, around 10:15 a.m., deputies responded to the 2900 block of Jon Hall, in Grand Junction, for a reported trespass. Jessica Pauls, 38, homeless, was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility (MCDF) on a single count of 2nd-degree criminal trespass enclosed/fenced property, a petty offense. 

From March 2026 into August, Pauls has been booked into the MCDF seven times for warrants, harassment, and primarily trespass charges.

On August 14, at approximately 3:15 p.m. deputies responded to a local hospital in reference to an assault that had occurred in the county. During the course of the investigation, deputies located the suspect in the 100 block of Laura Avenue, in Clifton, and arrested Brian Abbott Clark, 25, of Fairplay, Colo.

Abbott Clark was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

• Assault 1st degree intent to cause serious bodily injury - deadly weapon, Felony 3
• Criminal attempt, Felony 4
• Assault - 2nd degree by use of drugs, Felony 4
• Assault - 2nd degree with intent to cause serious bodily injury by strangulation, Felony 4
• Menacing - felony, Felony 5
• Obstruction of telephone, Misdemeanor 1
• Reckless endangerment, Misdemeanor 2
• Criminal mischief - under $300, Petty Offense
• Domestic violence
• Fugitive other jurisdiction warrant

Just before 8 p.m., on August 14, a deputy working a High Visibility Impaired Driving Enforcement (HVE) shift conducted a traffic stop in the 2900 block of North Avenue, in Grand Junction. HVE is a campaign organized by the Colorado Department of Transportation (Colorado State Patrol) to increase & saturate patrols, establish checkpoints, and dedicate law enforcement patrols to decrease impaired driving across the state. Deputies who work HVE shifts are on patrol in addition to regularly scheduled patrol teams and funded through HVE grants.

During the course of the deputy’s investigation, Christy Sisineros, 44, of Grand Junction was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

• DUI - drove vehicle under the influence - 3 or more prior convictions, Felony 4
• No insurance in possession, Misdemeanor
• Failed to drive in designated lane, Traffic Infraction
• Failed to use turn signals, Traffic Infraction

On August 15, at approximately 11 p.m., deputies were investigating a report of a hit-and-run incident in the 2900 block of Parkway Drive, in Grand Junction. While deputies were in the area of an address associated with the hit-and-run suspect, radio traffic indicated the Grand Junction Police Department was in contact with the suspect in the area of Las Colonias Park for an unrelated incident. The suspect, Courtney Duque, 25, of Clifton, was ultimately arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges stemming from the hit-and-run investigation:

• Assault 1st degree intent to cause serious bodily injury - deadly weapon, Felony 3
• Criminal attempt, Felony 4
• Vehicular assault while driving in a reckless manner, Felony 5
• Criminal attempt, Felony 6
• Criminal mischief - $2000 to $5000, Felony 6
• Reckless endangerment, Misdemeanor 2
• Menacing, Misdemeanor
• Reckless driving, Misdemeanor
