Recent Arrest Summary - Mesa County

MESA COUNTY, Colo. - On July 24, 2026, officers with the Grand Junction Police Department arrested Nolan Hall, 29, at approximately 2:20 p.m. in the 1900 block of Grand Ave. Hall was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on a warrant issued from the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office, with various charges stemming from Grand Junction Police Department cases. In addition, Mesa County Sheriff’s Office warrants from multiple violations of a protection order and harassment by telephone threat stemming from July 7 and July 18, 2026. Hall was also previously arrested by deputies near the 600 block of Broken Spoke Rd., Grand Junction, on June 14, 2026, on a warrant after being located at the address he was banned from.

Hall remains in the Mesa County Detention Facility on a cash-only bond of $20,200.00.

On July 24, 2026, at approximately 9:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to an assault in the area of Fruitvale Court and I-70 Business Loop Frontage Road, Grand Junction. Deputies located a vehicle with a broken windshield and an adult male victim with injuries consistent with a physical assault.

Genevieve Mata, 24, of Grand Junction was identified as the suspect and arrested without incident. She was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

  • Assault In The Third Degree - Misdemeanor 1
  • Criminal Mischief, $300-$1,000 - Misdemeanor 2
  • Domestic Violence

On July 25, 2026, deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of Jason Ln., Grand Junction, at approximately 12:20 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m., both times on a report of a protection order violation. On the first visit, deputies did not locate the suspect, Daniel Schneider, 22, of Grand Junction. However, deputies did locate Schneider when they arrived on-scene the second time. Schneider was previously arrested for violation of a protection order at the same address on June 5 and June 29, 2026.

Schneider was arrested and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

  • Violation Of A Protection Order (2 Counts) - Misdemeanor 1
  • Obstructing A Peace Officer, Firefighter or Emergency Medical Personnel - Misdemeanor 2

On July 26, 2026, around noon, deputies responded to a vehicle in the roadway of I-70 Business Loop and 32 Rd., Clifton. Witnesses reported the driver of the vehicle was possibly having a medical episode. When deputies arrived and attempted to communicate with the driver, they found he was initially unresponsive but smelled strongly of alcohol.

After safely moving the vehicle from the flow of traffic, deputies transported Matthew Lyman, 36, of Clifton, to the Mesa County Detention Facility, where a breath test resulted in more than double the DUI threshold. He was booked into jail without incident on the following charges:

  • Open Container In Motor Vehicle - Traffic Infraction
  • DUI/Per Se With Blood Alcohol Content .08 or Higher - Misdemeanor
  • DUI/Drove Vehicle Under The Influence - Misdemeanor

At approximately 4:30 p.m., June 26, deputies were dispatched to a welfare check in the 4000 block of Horse Canyon Road, DeBeque. In the area of the call, deputies observed a vehicle nearly crash, activating their emergency lights in an attempt to stop the vehicle. When the driver did stop the vehicle, she ran from the scene.

A short time later, deputies located an adult female attempting to hide in pinyon trees and sagebrush. She initially told deputies she had a gun and would shoot them. The female was later identified as Casey Mathis, 35, of Grand Junction. Deputies were able to arrest Mathis without incident, although she remained uncooperative all the way to the Mesa County Detention Facility. She was booked into jail on the following charges:

  • Four active warrants, including being restrained from alcohol, and her driver status is revoked due to being a habitual traffic offender
  • DUI/Drove Vehicle Under The Influence - Misdemeanor
  • Careless Driving - Misdemeanor
  • Violation Of A Protection Order - Misdemeanor
  • Resisting Arrest - Misdemeanor 2
  • Obstructing A Peace Officer, Firefighter or Emergency Medical Personnel - Misdemeanor 2
