Dutchess County District Attorney Anthony Parisi announced today that 69-year-old, Lorgio Hernandez-Quevedo, of Poughkeepsie, was sentenced in Dutchess County Court to 15 years in state prison followed by 5 years of post-release supervision after a Dutchess County jury found him guilty in June of Attempted Arson in the Second Degree, a Class C Violent Felony.
District Attorney Anthony Parisi said, "Today's sentence reflects the extraordinary danger posed by the defendant's actions and sends a clear message that those who intentionally endanger innocent lives through acts of arson will be held fully accountable. Had this fire taken hold, the consequences could have
been catastrophic. I commend the Court for imposing a sentence that recognizes the seriousness of this offense, and I again thank the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department, our prosecutors, and the jury for ensuring justice was served."
