On the evening of August 29, 2025, deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 1400 block of Chestnut, Cañon City CO, in reference to a 911 hang up. Upon arrival the responding deputy advised of shots fired.
After a few hours, the suspect, whose name will not be released at this time, and the involved deputy, whose name will not be released at this time, were both transported to hospitals with unknown injuries. This incident will be investigated by the CBI.
