On May 14, 2024, at 7:30 pm, Deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to an address in the 500 block of Villa Street in Clifton for a report of an assault in progress where one person had been stabbed.

Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the victim, who had a significant stab wound to the torso. The victim was transported emergent to an area hospital and underwent emergency surgery shortly thereafter. 

The two parties involved are known to one another, and this incident does not pose a further danger to the public.

This incident remains under investigation by Mesa County Sheriff's Office Investigators. No further details are available at this time.
