The Moffat County Sheriff's Office has located, and recovered the missing Polaris Ranger. Thanks to a tip on our last post, Moffat County Deputies were able to locate the missing Polaris. With the assistance of Moffat County Search and Rescue, the Polaris was safely recovered near the home of Mr. Velasquez. Moffat County Sheriff's Office and Search and Rescue conducted an extensive grid search of the area, however efforts to locate Mr. Velasquez were unsuccessful.
The Moffat County Sheriff's Office is actively and diligently following investigative leads that may lead to the location of Mr. Velasquez. The Moffat County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with Garfield County Search and Rescue and the Craig Police Department have continued efforts in their search for Mr. Velasquez. The Garfield County Search and Rescue brought three certified K9 search teams to Moffat County to assist with an extensive search of Mr. Velasquez' residence, and surrounding property. Search efforts have been unsuccessful.
The Moffat County Sheriff's Office Investigations Division is actively following investigative leads, and multiple tips that have been sent to our office over the past several days. Moffat County, CO - The Moffat County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance in locating 70-year-old resident Thomas Ray Velasquez. who was last seen on December 18th, 2023. Mr. Velasquez was reported missing on January 6th, 2024. Efforts to locate Mr. Velasquez have been ongoing since he was reported missing. An extensive ground and aerial search has been conducted in the area where he was last believed to have been located, his residence on Moffat County Road 53, without success.
Velasquez may be in possession of a 2020 Polaris Ranger UTV, described as having camouflage body panels, black doors, and top. The UTV is missing from his residence as well.
Thomas Ray Velasquez has been officially entered into the National Crime Information Center as a missing person. Mr. Velasquez is a 5'9" white male, weighing approximately 164 lbs. He has brown hair, which may show signs of graying, and brown eyes.
