The Hillsboro Police Department is proud to serve as the host agency and home to the head trainer for a regional police canine group. This group includes over 30 K9 teams from New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont.
As part of our ongoing commitment to professional development and canine welfare, we were honored to welcome NH Op K9 Med for a full-day course in basic canine first aid.
This comprehensive 8-hour training provided both classroom instruction and hands-on experience, covering critical topics such as traumatic injuries, heat-related emergencies, bloat, and other medical concerns that K9 handlers may encounter in the field. Participants gained knowledge on how to recognize medical emergencies and administer life-saving care to their canine partners.
With nearly 30 attendees from across the region, this training has the potential to make a life-saving difference for working dogs who serve. We extend our thanks to NH Op Med for providing this high-quality instruction at no cost.
