Chief Christopher Parsons has announced that Trick-or-Treating in Hillsboro will be held on Friday, October 31st, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Keep your eyes peeled for our officers — they’ll be out and about with candy in hand as they patrol.

3 TRICK-OR-TREATING TIPS

1. Make Costumes Visible

Choose costumes with reflective materials or add glow sticks, LED lights, or reflective tape to increase visibility. This helps drivers see children more easily in the dark.

2. Stick to Well-Lit, Familiar Routes

Encourage kids to trick-or-treat in neighborhoods they know and stick to well-lit streets. Avoid shortcuts through alleys or wooded areas.

3. Go in Groups and Set Check-In Times

Kids should always trick-or-treat in groups with trusted friends or family. Set specific check-in times or locations to regroup and ensure everyone is safe.
