New Colorado Law as of January 1, 2025

Gun Storage Requirements in vehicles 

To prevent gun thefts from vehicles, the new law requires that gun owners who leave a gun in their cars must securely store it in a locked, hard sided container that is out of sight when left in an unattended vehicle. Approved containers include a glove box, center console or trunk. 

Gun owners who fail to comply with the new law could face a $500.00 fine.
