The Colorado Emergency Management Association (CEMA) presented Mesa County Sheriff's Office Director of Emergency Services Andy Martsolf with the 2022 Emergency Manager of the Year award for the Northwest All-Hazards Region. This award recognizes individuals from each of the nine All-Hazards Regions in Colorado. It is based on career achievement, overall contribution, local/regional coordination, specialized projects, and proven leadership in the field of comprehensive emergency management.
Another Mesa County Sheriff's Office employee, Radio Communications Coordinator John Hildebrand, received the 2022 President's Award from the organization. Hildebrand received this award based on the significant contributions that he has made to the emergency management field and his selfless service to other counties and agencies in western and northwestern Colorado.
The awards were presented at the annual CEMA conference in Loveland, Colorado. The awardees are selected from nominations for those that have made significant contributions to the field of Emergency Management.
