Oath of Office Ceremony for Sheriff
Mesa County Sheriff Todd Rowell will officially take office the evening of Friday, August 6, 2021. The swearing-in ceremony will start at 5:00 p.m. in the old Mesa County Courthouse, 544 Rood Ave., public hearing room on the second floor.
Rowell will take the oath of office and be sworn into office by The Honorable District Court Judge Gretchen Larson. The public is invited to attend.
Mesa County Board of Commissioners appointed Undersheriff Todd Rowell to fill the vacancy left by retiring Sheriff Matt Lewis. Rowell will serve the remainder of the term until an elected Sheriff takes office in January 2023.
Undersheriff Todd Rowell has served 20 years with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office and will become the 22nd Sheriff of Mesa County.
