MESA COUNTY, COLO. - During the first week of August, the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Grand Junction Police Department, Fruita Police Department, Palisade Police Department, Colorado Bureau of Investigation, Colorado State Patrol, 21st Judicial District-District Attorney’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations conducted a three-day operation targeting suspects who use the internet to solicit underage individuals for sex.
During this three-day operation, a total of five individuals were arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
Eric Muesch, 46, of Grand Junction, Colorado
- Soliciting for commercial sexual activity with a child, Felony 3
- Sexual assault on a child/victim <15 years/at least 4 years difference in age, Felony 4
- Criminal Attempt, Felony 5
Muesch received a $100,000 personal recognizance bond.
Marlin Alvarez Carcamo, 23, of Aspen, Colorado
- Soliciting for commercial sexual activity with a child, Felony 3
- Sexual assault on a child/victim <15 years/at least 4 years difference in age, Felony 4
- Criminal Attempt, Felony 5
Alvarez received a $10,000 cash only bond.
Alejandro Vazquez Bonilla, 42, of Basalt, Colorado
- Internet luring of a child/intent of sexual contact/exploitation, Felony 4
- Criminal Attempt, Felony 5
- Sexual assault on a child/victim <15 years/at least 4 years difference in age, Felony 4
Bonilla received a $10,000 cash only bond.
Robert Callaway, 72, of Grand Junction, Colorado
- Soliciting for commercial sexual activity with a child, Felony 3
- Sexual assault on a child/victim <15 years/at least 4 years difference in age, Felony 4
- Criminal Attempt, Felony 5
Callaway received a $50,000 cash or surety bond.
Alex Knoll, 37, of Grand Junction, Colorado
- Internet luring of a child/intent of sexual contact/exploitation, Felony 4
- Sexual assault - internet sexual exploitation of a child, Felony 4
- Soliciting for commercial sexual activity with a child, Felony 3
- Pandering of a child-arrange commercial sexual activity with a child, Felony 3
- Human trafficking of a minor, Felony 2
- Sexual assault on a child/victim <15 years/at least 4 years difference in age, Felony 4
- Criminal Attempt, Felony 5
Knoll received a $100,000 cash only bond.
All law enforcement agencies involved in this operation want arrests from this operation to serve as a warning that these crimes are not tolerated in Mesa County.
