CLIFTON, Colo. - At around 5 p.m. on August 17, 2026, deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the area of 33 Road and Lombardy Lane. Three adult females were contacted inside the vehicle, with the driver identified as 51-year-old Sarah Leonard.
Leonard had an active warrant and was driving without a valid license. During the course of the investigation, suspected methamphetamine was located in the car. Leonard was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Dist/Man/Poss with intent to distribute >1/2oz to ½ lb of schedule I/II, Felony 2
- Possession of drug paraphernalia, Drug Petty Offense
- Driving after revocation prohibited - habitual traffic offender, Misdemeanor
- Stopped when traffic obstructed, Traffic Infraction
- Failure to appear warrant
Leonard is being held on a $300 PR bond and a $5,000 cash-only bond.
