On July 6, 2022, Mesa County Sheriff's Deputies assisted Colorado National Monument  Rangers at the Saddlehorn Campground after drugs were found while checking on an illegal campfire. Justin Book, age 36 of Desoto, Texas, and Victoria Olson, age 41 of Las Vegas, Nevada were arrested for being in possession of approximately 1000 grams of meth, 20 grams of cocaine, 2200 fentanyl pills, cash, and a firearm. The street value of the Fentanyl is $33,000.00

Both Book and Olson were booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on multiple Drug Felony 1 charges.
