The Mesa County Sheriff's Office received a report of a phone scam. The caller is fraudulently identifying themselves as a law enforcement officer from the Mesa County Sheriff's Office. The caller will advise the person they are speaking to that the person has warrants and request them to purchase a money card to pay for the warrant. The caller will threaten to put the person in jail if they do not comply. THIS IS A SCAM, THE MESA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE WILL NOT REQUEST YOU TO PURCHASE A CARD, MONEY ORDER, OR ANYTHING SIMILAR OVER THE PHONE.
