The evacuation order has been lifted for the Lands End 2 Fire. Residents may now return home. Fire crews are continuing to fight the 120-acre fire but have made significant progress. Expect fire crews to remain in the area and water drops to continue while crews work to extinguish the fire.

Fire crews are making progress on the Lands End 2 Fire burning near Purdy Mesa Reservoir with the help of a type 1 helicopter. So far, approximately 120 acres have burned. Homes in the immediate area northeast of Lands End Road and Reeder Mesa Road are under evacuation. Lands End Road is closed in immediate the area. Reeder Mesa and Purdy Mesa are closed at the fire perimeter. Power is out to the surrounding area as a safety precaution for fire crews. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Mesa County Sheriff's Office is currently fighting a brush fire in the area of Lands End Road and Divide Road. Homes in the immediate area northeast of Lands End Road and Reeder Mesa Road are under evacuation. Multiple agencies are fighting the fire on the ground to include Mesa County Sheriff's Office Wildland Fire Team, Bureau of Land Management, Lands End Fire Protection District, Clifton Fire Protection District, Plateau Valley Fire Protection District, Grand Junction Fire Department, and Central Orchard Mesa. A Type 1 Helicopter is attacking the fire by air.
