MESA COUNTY, Colo. - On September 3, 2026, patrol deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of 32 Rd. in Clifton, just after 2 p.m. During the contact with the driver and vehicle occupants, Kendale Bryant-Townsell, 31, of Clifton, was identified and had an active warrant for his arrest. 

Bryant-Townsell had a handgun in his possession and exhibited signs of intoxication during the contact with deputies. The vehicle driver was released with a ticket for a driving infraction, and Bryant-Townsell was arrested and booked without incident into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

• Prohibitive use of a weapon, Misdemeanor 1
• Failure to appear warrant

He was released from custody on a personal recognizance bond on September 4.

On September 4, at approximately 2:20 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a report of a theft in progress in the 3100 block of Glendam Rd., in Grand Junction. Kyler Rentie was found with Amazon packages and Walmart delivery bags labeled with addresses in close proximity to the area where deputies made contact with him. 

Rentie was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility, where suspected methamphetamine was located on his body after entering the jail. He was charged with:

• 2nd degree introducing contraband, Felony 6
• Unlawful possession <4g controlled substance schedule I/II, Misdemeanor 1
• Possession of drug paraphernalia, Drug Petty Offense
• Theft - less than $300, Petty Offense

In 2026, Rentie was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility no fewer than 6 times. He was released from custody on a personal recognizance bond on September 5.

On September 6, just after 2 p.m., deputies were dispatched to an assault in progress in the 400 block of Alamo St., in Grand Junction. On scene, deputies located an adult female with a significant amount of blood from injuries to her upper body. Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to an area hospital by ambulance.

During the course of the on-scene investigation, deputies arrested Craig Purtell, 30, of Grand Junction, on domestic violence-related charges. Purtell was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

• Assault 2nd degree with injury - deadly weapon, Felony 4
• 2nd degree criminal tampering, Misdemeanor 2
• Child abuse negligently cause bodily injury, Misdemeanor 2
• Domestic violence

Later that day, at approximately 7:30 p.m., deputies responded to a report of an assault in progress in the 200 block of 29 Rd., in Grand Junction. Upon arrival, deputies determined the suspect had left the area, and after investigating the incident, a warrant was sought and issued for Michael Snyder, 40, of Grand Junction. At least one victim was transported to an area hospital by ambulance.

On September 8, Snyder was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the warrant with the following charges:

• 2nd degree assault strangulation, Felony 4
• Menacing, Felony 5
• Assault on the third degree (2 counts), Misdemeanor 1
• Harassment, Misdemeanor 1
• Child abuse, Misdemeanor 2
• Domestic Violence

Snyder remains in custody without bond, pending a court appearance.
