MESA COUNTY, COLO. - The following is a recap of arrests made by the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office between August 21, 2026, and August 23, 2026.
On August 21, 2026, at approximately 9:40 a.m., deputies were notified that a stolen credit card had been utilized at a business on the 2500 block of Rimrock Drive in Grand Junction, Colorado, and other nearby businesses. The credit card had initially been stolen out of a vehicle on the 500 block of Colonial Drive in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Deputies were able to review footage from the business to identify the suspect and the car the suspect was driving at the time of the card’s usage. With this information, deputies located the truck on the 2100 block of Saguaro Road in Grand Junction where they contacted a male matching the suspect in the security camera footage. The male, identified as Christian Russell, 24, of Grand Junction, was placed into custody and found to be in possession of the stolen cards upon a search of his person.
Russell was transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- 1st degree criminal auto trespass with intent to commit crime, Misdemeanor 1
- Theft - less than 300 - from motor vehicle, Petty Offense
- Theft - $2000-$5000 - all other, Felony 6
- Fraud - identity theft - possesses information without permission, Felony 5
- Unauthorized use of financial transaction device, $2000 or more, less than $5000, Felony 6
On August 22, 2026, at approximately 1:15 a.m., deputies responded to a physical assault on the 1500 block of 10 Road in Mack, Colorado. During the investigation, it was reported that the male, identified as Jiayi Liu, 38, of Mack, had physically assaulted another resident of the home and had made unwanted sexual contact. Liu was placed into custody and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Assault in the third degree, Misdemeanor 1
- Domestic violence
- Unlawful sexual contact - without consent, Misdemeanor 1
On August 22, 2026 at approximately 2:40 p.m. deputies responded to a harassment in progress on the 3200 block of West Willow Drive in Clifton, Colorado. Deputies learned a female had arrived at the residence and began banging on the door, threatening the resident. The resident exited to ask the female to leave, however, the female assaulted the resident. The female then caused damage to the resident’s vehicle before leaving.
Deputies located the female, identified as Fransisca Dores, 46, of Clifton, Colorado, and placed her into custody. Dores was transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Harassment - strike, shove, kick or otherwise touches or subjects to physical contact, Misdemeanor 1
- Criminal mischief - $300-$1000, Misdemeanor 2
- Domestic violence
On August 22, 2026, at approximately 6:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a harassment in progress along the Riverfront Trail near 29 ¾ Road in Clifton, Colorado. During their investigation, deputies learned the male male, identified as Everett Hill, 36 of Grand Junction, threw an object at a female, attempted to physically assault her, and was verbally combative.
Hill was placed into custody, during which drug paraphernalia was located on his person. Hill was transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Harassment - follow person in public place, Misdemeanor 1
- Domestic violence
- Violation of a protection order, Misdemeanor 1
- Possession of drug paraphernalia, Drug Petty Offense
On August 23, 2026, at approximately 3:40 a.m. deputies responded to an assault in progress on the 17000 block of 45 ½ Road in De Beque, Colorado. The reporting party stated one resident had attacked multiple other residents of the home while intoxicated. During their investigation, deputies noted multiple facial and bodily injuries to a victim consistent with the reported assault. The suspect, identified as Jaydan Barber, 21, of De Beque, was placed into custody and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Assault in the third degree, Misdemeanor 1
- Domestic violence
