📢 New Parking Ordinance & Citation Procedures Now in Effect
The Town of Lochbuie has approved an important amendment to Section 8-1-30 (Section 1707 – Summons and Complaint and Penalty Assessment) of the municipal code. This update affects how the Lochbuie Police Department issues parking citations and is intended to streamline the process and improve compliance with parking regulations throughout town.
Under this revised ordinance, when a vehicle is found in violation of any parking restrictions outlined in Part 12 of the Model Traffic Code, officers are now authorized to conspicuously affix a Penalty Assessment Notice directly to the vehicle.
The new Penalty Assessment Notice will include:
• Violation(s) and the vehicle associated with the violation
• The fine amount associated with the specific violation, including any surcharge
• Clear instructions on how to pay the fine or respond to the charge at the designated court time and location
These changes aim to:
✔ Improve consistency in how parking violations are handled
✔ Reduce delays in issuing citations
✔ Ensure violations are clearly communicated to vehicle owners
✔ Support safety and accessibility on Lochbuie roadways
Residents and visitors are encouraged to review all posted signs and local parking regulations to avoid receiving a citation. The Lochbuie Police Department appreciates the community’s cooperation as we implement this updated process.
If you have questions about the new ordinance or need clarification on parking rules, please contact the Lochbuie Police Department at (303) 659-1395.
