Keenesburg Police Department started taking calls on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. It's been a long time coming. We are eager to be the police department that you asked to become part of your community--we can't wait! It feels a lot like a child waiting for Christmas morning.
One of the things that the community has told us over and again is that they expect transparency from the department. Chief Jensen recruited top-drawer police officers. He believes that the police officers residents will see and meet policing their neighborhoods are very professional and want nothing more than to be a part of your town.
As a police department, we have nothing to hide from the residents. We will maintain a presence here on CRIMEWATCH. We will regularly share information about how we are policing Keenesburg. We will post information about the calls that affect you and your neighbors. To be clear, there will be details we must withhold. We will not name juveniles, for example. We generally will not provide exact address information about calls or information that identifies innocent people or stigmatizes victims or witnesses. But we will share information that will help people to understand what police are doing in Keenesburg and information that helps residents feel safe.
Please let us know if you find gaps in the information we make available. We want to be what you want us to be.
