⚠️ FLASH FLOOD WARNING ⚠️
Keenesburg is currently included in a Flash Flood Warning until 7:00 PM.
Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has already fallen, with up to another inch possible. Flash flooding is either already occurring or expected to begin shortly.
The warning includes portions of northwestern Adams County and south central Weld County, including Keenesburg, Hudson, Lochbuie, Brighton, northeastern Commerce City, and Barr Lake.
Areas of particular concern include Box Elder Creek, Third Creek, Horse Creek, Second Creek, and the South Platte River, along with low-lying areas, poor drainage locations, and roadways where water may accumulate quickly.
If you're out driving, DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED ROADWAYS.
We know your truck has four-wheel drive.
We know it's lifted.
We know you've "made it through worse."
Your truck is still not a boat.
Water can rise extremely quickly during a flash flood, and it's difficult to determine how deep the water actually is or whether the roadway underneath it is still there.
If you encounter water covering the roadway, turn around and find another route. If barricades are placed, do not drive around them.
Turn Around, Don't Drown.
Keenesburg Officers will be monitoring conditions in the area. Please slow down, stay alert, and use caution if you have to be out this evening.
We'll provide additional information if conditions or the warning change.
