The Culpeper Police Department is seeking assistance in identifying the driver and/or vehicle involved in a hit and run motor vehicle crash in the Dominion Square shopping center; located within the Town of Culpeper. The incident occurred in the parking lot near the TJ Maxx on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2020 around 5:40 p.m.

The vehicle pictured is not the actual vehicle involved in the crash, however, based on witness statements and evidence left at the scene it is similar to the one pictured above. The suspect vehicle is a black/dark-colored 2017 or 2018 Ford Fusion 4-door with Virginia tags, dark tinted windows, and a dent on the drivers side (between the front and rear doors). It should have heavy front end damage to the passenger headlight set as a result of the crash. After striking the victim’s vehicle, the suspect vehicle fled the shopping center onto James Madison Hwy towards Belle Avenue. It is unknown which direction the vehicle went from there.
