Culpeper Police Launch New Crime Fighting Website

The Culpeper Police Department is pleased to announced the launch of a new website that gives people who use social networks and mobile devices an easier, more effective way to help fight crime and stay informed. The new Culpeper Police Department Website can be found at  or

The new Culpeper Police Department website was developed in partnership with CRIMEWATCH Technologies and is part of the CRIMEWATCH Network ( This online tool gives the public direct access to crime and public safety-related information happening in the Culpeper community.

“This new website is a platform that increases the transparency between our department and our community,” says Culpeper Chief Chris Jenkins. “It gives citizens instant access to information that impacts their safety by allowing them to see wanted persons, recent arrests, and any crime trends. We’re able to better process crime tips in a way that allows for anonymity. Many law enforcement agencies throughout the region have had great success with this technology and we want that for our community.”

Culpeper Police Department is the first Virginia based police department to go live on the CRIMEWATCH Network; a communications platform developed specifically for law enforcement agencies that allows for geographically targeted information sharing.

Through the website, citizens can sign up for free crime alerts and broadcasts from the Culpeper Police Department. Arrest alerts include offender information, the offender’s photo, and details of the arrest. The website will include accurate and current information on wanted persons, arrests, active and cold cases being investigated, and incident information. Citizens can learn about and connect with resources and services such as Hidden in Plain Sight (HIPS) and our Drug Take Back program.

Local residents and students are strongly encouraged to visit , connect with police department social media sites, and/or download CRIMEWATCH Mobile from the Apple or Android App Store.
