CULPEPER, Va. – June 18, 2026 – The Culpeper Police Department has arrested a Culpeper man following an investigation into allegations involving a juvenile female.

On June 8, 2026, the Culpeper Police Department received information alleging that a 21-year-old male had engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old female. Detectives assigned to the Culpeper Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, working in partnership with the Northern Virginia - Washington, D.C. Internet Crimes Against Children (NOVA-DC ICAC) Task Force, immediately initiated an investigation.

As a result of the investigation, detectives obtained warrants charging Diyon Jasper, 21, of Culpeper, with two felony counts of Carnal Knowledge of a Child, two felony counts of Use of a Communications System to Facilitate Certain Offenses Involving Children, two felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography, and two felony counts of Reproduction of Child Pornography. Jasper was taken into custody on June 11, 2026.

The investigation revealed that Jasper allegedly established a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old female and solicited sexually explicit images from the juvenile. The investigation remains active, and additional charges may be forthcoming pending a comprehensive forensic review of digital evidence being conducted by members of the Culpeper Police Department and the NOVA-DC ICAC Task Force.

During the investigation, detectives learned that Jasper served as an assistant coach for a local sports team in which the juvenile victim participated. Investigators believe he may have used his position of trust and authority to facilitate the alleged offenses.

Based on evidence developed during the investigation, detectives believe there may be additional victims or individuals with information relevant to this case. Anyone who may have had contact with Jasper in a coaching, mentoring, or similar capacity, or who possesses information related to this investigation, is encouraged to contact investigators.

“Predators are constantly using internet-based social platforms to interact with and target children of all ages,” said Chief Chris Settle. “Parental monitoring, involvement, and open communication are crucial to the safety of 

children both online and in person. This investigation in particular proves that involved and alert parents are the last line of defense between predators and potential victims.”
