On October 17th, 2025, the Culpeper Police Department arrested an adult man as the result of an investigation into the possession and distribution of child pornography. In May of 2025, Culpeper Police Detectives assigned to the NOVA-DC ICAC Task Force opened an investigation into the distribution of child pornography via a social media platform.
After an extensive investigation, Detectives identified the suspect as Omar E. Luis Sanchez, a 26 year old male who resides in the Town of Culpeper. On October 17th, a search warrant was executed in the 500 Blk of Fairfax St where Luis Sanchez was arrested and evidence was seized. Luis Sanchez was charged with felony Possession and Distribution of Child Pornography. He was brought before a magistrate who ordered that he be held without bond at the Culpeper County Jail. Additional charges may be filed in the future.
“The possession and distribution of child pornography is a reprehensible crime that causes lifelong harm to victims,” said Chief Chris Settle. “Our department remains steadfast in identifying and arresting those who exploit children. We will continue to work dilengtly to ensure offenders are brought to justice.”
The NOVA-DC ICAC Task Force is coordinated by the Virginia State Police.
