At 12:22PM, the Batavia Police Department was dispatched along with the City of Batavia Fire Department and MercyEMS for a motorcycle vs. pick-up truck accident at the intersection of Walnut Street and Law Street. Upon arrival of the initial officer, the motorcyclist was down in the roadway, unresponsive with apparent serious injuries.

City of Batavia Fire Department and MercyEMS treated and transported the male operator to a landing zone for MercyFlight on Law Street. The operator was flown to ECMC in Buffalo. At this time the male remains in serious condition. The operator of the pick-up truck was evaluated by the City of Batavia Fire Department on scene for apparent minor injuries, however he was not transported to the hospital. 

The Batavia Police Department at this time will not be releasing the names of either operator as the investigation is continuing and charges are pending.

The Batavia Police Department was also assisted by the Genesee County Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Team.
