The Batavia Police Department is celebrating National Public Safety Telecommunicator’s Week and recognizing the dedicated men and women of the Genesee County Emergency Dispatch Center.
Occurring annually the second full week of April. During this week we honor the thousands of men and women who are usually the first to answer that distressed phone call/text message for emergencies. They are the ones to dispatch emergency professionals and equipment, and at times render life-saving assistance to the community they serve. These tireless individuals serve our public daily with respect, pride and passion. They are a critical part of our First Responder Community.
Recent events have highlighted the important work of our telecommunications professionals that serve he City of Batavia. Telecommunication professionals are the calm, professional voices heard that attempt to organize the “chaos.”
Chief Shawn Heubusch, and all the members of the Batavia Police Department would like to recognize National Public Safety Telecommunicator's Week by honoring and thanking the dedicated men and women of the Genesee County Emergency Dispatch Center.
The City Council of the City of Batavia will recognize these professionals with a Proclamation at the City Council meeting on April 12, 2021.
