Those interested must file by August 4, 2021 for examination on September 18th or 19th 

BATAVIA, N.Y. - The City of Batavia Police Department announced today that those interested in becoming a city police officer can take the civil service examination on either September 18, 2021 or September 19, 2021. All applicants must file for the examination with the Genesee County Human Resources Department by August 4, 2021. 

“As part of the police reform plan that the City of Batavia submitted to New York State per the Governor’s Executive Order, the City is committed to working with our local government partners and various groups and organizations in reaching out to the community to promote and publicize these important career opportunities in law enforcement,” said Batavia Police Chief Shawn Heubusch.  “It’s important that the composition of the police department reflects the community it serves and protects and that starts with making people aware that the police exam is coming up.”
