Arrests

1. Soliciting alms on a public street or public place, 12:30 PM, Friday, March 18, 2022, Ellicott St. – Nancy L. LAWRENCE, F/69 of Batavia, NY, was arrested for the above listed charge following an investigation of soliciting alms in a local businesses parking lot. LAWRENCE was issued an appearance ticket and released. LAWRENCE is scheduled to appear in Batavia City Court on 4/5/2022 at 1300HRS. Case closed with the arrest of LAWRENCE.
    
2. Bench Warrant, 1:00 PM, Thursday, February 24, 2022, W. Main St. – On 3/20/2022, Adam E. BORTLE, M/38 of Wayland, NY, was arrested on a bench warrant out of Batavia City Court. BORTLE was arraigned in front of Judge Rogers in BCC and released, to appear in BCC on 3/24/2022 at 1:30PM.
    
3. Harassment 2^nd Degree, 11:22 PM, Wednesday, March 23, 2022, N. Spruce St. – NaQuan J. SHEPARD, M/22, of Batavia, NY, was arrested on 3/23/2022 for the listed charge following a disturbance at city apartment complex. SHEPARD is alleged to have thrown a cardboard box at someone during a dispute. SHEPHERD was issued appearance ticket returnable to BCC on 3/29/2022 at 1:00 PM and released.
    
4. Grand Larceny 4^th Degree, 2:40 PM, Tuesday, March 22, 2022, Ellicott St. – On 3/22/2022, Curtis WILLIAMS, M/55, of Batavia, NY, was arrested on a charge of Grand Larceny 4th Degree. WILLIAMS allegedly was discovered to have taken in excess of $1,000 from his employer during an extended period of time. WILLIAMS was processed and issued an appearance ticket returnable to BCC on 4/12/2022 at 1:00 PM.  
    
5. Petit Larceny, 11:49 AM, Friday, March 18, 2022, W. Main St. Rd. – On 3/18/2022, Erik R. MOTQUIN, M/29 of Batavia, NY, was arrested after an investigation into a larceny that took place at a local business. It is alleged that MOTQUIN attempted to exit the store with $316.03 worth of unpaid merchandise. MOTQUIN was arrested and issued an appearance ticket to report to City Court on a later date.
    
6. Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3^rd Degree, 4:18 AM, Thursday, March 17, 2022, Gateway Dr. – Kiha S. MCNEAR, M/24, of Batavia, NY, was arrested for the above listed charge outside Parksite Manner. This charge stemmed from a traffic stop investigation which occurred on 3/13/2022 where MCNEAR was found to be in possession of an illegal substance. MCNEAR was transported to the Genesee County Jail prior to arraignment. MCNEAR was arraigned with Judge ROGERS presiding. MCNEAR was held without bail and is scheduled to appear in Batavia City Court on 4/7/2022 at 1:30 PM. MCNEAR was transported to the Genesee County Jail where he was held.
