Arrests

1. Criminal Mischief 4^th; Attempted Assault 3^rd; Harassment 2nd, 7:10 PM, Tuesday, November 16, 2021, Liberty St. – On 11/16/2021, Matthew W. KURTZ Sr. M/52 of Batavia NY, was arrested on the above charges. It’s alleged that KURTZ shoved another person and threw an object at their head, during a domestic incident on Liberty St. KURTZ was arraigned in Batavia City Court by Judge BURNS and released on his own recognizance. He is due back in court on 12/2/2021.
2. Driving While Intoxicated – BAC >.08%; Driving While Intoxicated; Operating a Motor Vehicle without insurance; Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Registration, 1:56 AM, Saturday, November 13, 2021, Jackson St. – ON 11/13/2021, Jesslyn F. BIGELOW, F/24 of Batavia NY, was arrested after an investigation following a traffic stop where BIGELOW was allegedly found to be intoxicated by an alcoholic beverage. BIGELOW was issued several traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in Batavia City Court on a later date.
3. Theft of Services, 8:00 PM, Thursday, November 4, 2021, Ellicott St. – On 11/5/2021, at about 11:30PM, Batavia Police arrested Christine CAPLIS on the listed charge after she was located by Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies. CAPLIS allegedly failed to pay for services provided by a local restaurant. CAPLIS was issued an appearance ticket scheduling her to appear in BCC on 11/16/2021 at 1300HRS.
    
4. Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7^th , 7:20 PM, Saturday, August 28, 2021, E. Main St. – On 11/7/2021, Michael ROBBINS, M/61 of Batavia NY, was arrested on the charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. The charge stems from a previous incident where ROBBINS was arrested. ROBBINS was found to have had a quantity of drugs on his person at the time. Upon confirmation that the drugs in question contained methamphetamine and fentanyl, ROBBINS was arrested at the GC Jail, where he is being held on other charges, and was issued an appearance ticket returnable to BCC on 11/23/2021 at 1300HRS.
