On this solemn 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we pause to remember the lives lost and honor the courage of the first responders who selflessly ran toward danger to bring others to safety.
We stand in tribute to the nearly 3,000 innocent victims, the brave firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and ordinary citizens who made the ultimate sacrifice, and the countless families forever changed by that day.
As a law enforcement agency, we also honor the 72 law enforcement officers, 343 firefighters, and 8 emergency medical technicians who gave their lives in service on 9/11, and the many more who continue battling 9/11-related illnesses or have since lost their lives due to illnesses stemming from their heroic response. Their bravery continues to inspire us, and their sacrifice is a lasting reminder of the risks taken every day in service to others.
Though the years pass, the impact remains. We honor the memory of those we lost and stand united in our commitment to never forget.
Together, we keep their memory alive and uplift those who carry on.
Thank you to all who continue to serve and protect!
