The City held a swearing-in ceremony for the newest Police Detective of the City of Batavia Police Department at the regular City Council meeting on April 25, 2022.
Detective Stephen Cronmiller was sworn in by Deputy Clerk Amy Cassidy following his promotion on April 17, 2022.
Detective Cronmiller is a 2013 graduate of Hilbert College where he majored in Criminal Justice. He has been assigned to the road patrol since beginning his career with the Department and has taken on many additional duties during that time period. Stephen is a field training officer, Emergency Response Team member and has worked on the Department's accreditation project.
"Steve will be a great addition to the Detective Bureau.", stated Police Chief Shawn Heubusch, "Steve will be able to assist the Department in handling the more complex crimes and will continue to serve the community with pride."
Stephen lives in Batavia with his family and enjoys playing hockey in his spare time.
